Maldives is a bit expensive. Contact a travel agent who does package deals. It will be cheaper than booking direct. Sometimes there are good deals directly too but haven't seen lately. Most good deals were from Thailand in the last few months. Just after Covid there were a lot of deals in Thailand's island resorts at unbelievable prices.

There are packages from three days upwards. The cost depends on where you stay. The travel between islands is by ferry or speedboat. Some resorts have seaplane transport.
What's there is basically the sea and all water sports. If you are into these then it's alright. There are some resorts that have all inclusive deals, that includes liquor. Note it's a muslim country. Only the resorts and some floating bars are licensed to sell liquor.

Don't worry about island hopping. It's easy. Also the packages are seasonal and rates can vary a lot. Everything depends on your budget. Enquire from a few travel agents who does Maldives tours.
