Sri Lanka fast bowler Lasith Malinga has sent a letter of appeal requesting Sri Lanka Cricket to restore his central contract.
Malinga in his appeal letter has stated that it was unfair to leave him out of the contract when another Sri Lanka cricketer Farveez Maharoof had been given one.
Malinga has said that both he and Maharoof were injured in the same tournament in Australia and questioned the double standards of SLC.
Malinga is recovering from a knee injury for which he has received special treatment from President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s ayurvedic physician.
SLC CEO Duleep Mendis said that Malinga’s letter was tabled at the last IC meeting but as there were certain formalities that needed to be discussed a final decision on the matter will be taken at the next IC meeting later this month
