New Maruti Alto with airbags & ABS
Maruti Suzuki launched the new 2019 Alto with new features to meet the new norms set by the government. According to the new laws, no car in India can be registered without the minimum mandatory features like the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), driver-side airbag, speed warning, rear parking sensors and driver & passenger seatbelt reminder.
The 2019 Alto 800 has become updated visually too. The video reveals that the front-end now gets a new blacked-out grille with chrome Suzuki logo. The grille now extends to connect the headlamps together. The design of the radiator grille has been updated too and it now gets hexagonal design.
The bumper design also gets updated slightly with different fog lamp housing, however, the shape of the headlamps remain the same. From the side, the Alto 800 remains exactly the same and comes with black steel rims. The 2019 Alto 800 remains identical at the rear too and gets similar clear lens tail lamps. It gets integrated dual parking sensors integrated to the bumper itself.
The new 2019 Alto 800 offers a dual-tone dashboard and door panels. The central console of the Alto 800 VXi has been redesigned too and the front power windows are located in a different way but the position is still in the middle.
The shape of the instrument cluster has been updated too. It gets a big dial in the middle with reshaped flanks. However, the layout is similar to the outgoing model. The steering wheel of the Alto remains the same and does not get any controls for the infotainment system on it. It gets a standard infotainment system with FM, Bluetooth, USB and AUX-in support. The new Alto 800 offers dual front airbags.
The Alto 800 remains powered by the same 796cc, three-cylinder petrol engine. It generates a maximum power of 48 Bhp at 6,000 rpm and 69 Nm at 3,900 rpm. Maruti Suzuki is yet to announce the launch of the new Alto 800 in the market but it seems like that the dealerships have started to receive the updated models and soon the price of the new version will be announced in the market.
The Alto is the best-selling car in the market and has been on sale for a long time now. With the arrival of the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assesment Program (BNVSAP) later this year, we can expect another update of the Alto in the market. Maruti Suzuki is also working on all-new Alto for the Indian market that is expected to be launched in the Indian market by 2020.
