Hi guys,
Does anyone know about the brakes of the Maruti 800? As far as I know, it has this rigid brake system that feels like I'm pushing the brake drum with my feet.
So does it have Hydraulics or any similar system or is is just a cable system that works just like a bicycle (I felt like that when I drove my aunt's Maruti)

Any Maruti users here?
:D

i had one earlier for two years....yup its true, it has a cable system drum break, but its not same as bicycle...you feel like that because, the response time and assurance is very poor. you cant control that car wehen you exceed 70kmph or so....better to change the break system, you can implat japanese alto brake system, but ostly...those days it was arround 38,000...(genuine ,brand new)

has there been any change to the system in later versions of the car?
Does the car come in the same old system now?

they will change the car soon...till that, no change...mannual steering, bad breaks...

i had an accident dut to the poor breaks...it also has the metallic sound which you may think break pads are gone, but not so....

Yes,
I also felt I was on the edge of hitting buses and cars when I drove that maruti. Shit. I have to buy one coz I dont have much money to buy a Jap car. I'll have to keep it at least upto a year till my budget goes up.

the thought of going below 60 gives me the creeps. Even old grannies will pass me !
