Marvel Fan Watched Avengers: Endgame 191 Times in Theaters, Breaking Guinness World Record

Iron Man may have finally defeated Thanos with one consequential snap. Meanwhile, an Avengers: Endgame fan snapped a worldwide record of his own recently. Marvel superfan Ramiro Alanis, a Florida-based personal trainer, officially holds the Guinness World Record for the most cinema productions attended of the same film, watching Avengers: Endgame 191 times to capture the crown. Alanis seems to have completed the feat on July 29, 2019, according to the certificate he received, just over three months after the movie hit theatres on April 26, 2019. That means Alanis watched the movie 191 times in 94 days, averaging out to just over two screenings per day to get to the record.







The commitment took a lot out of Alanis, who gave an interview to Guinness."The most difficult part about this attempt was giving up my social life with my family, the gym (I lost 16 pounds of muscle) and managing my work hours and screening times at the theatres," he said. It was all worth it when he received the official email confirmation, with Alanis saying tears flooded his eyes. He said he couldn't have done it without "the support I got from family, friends, managers and staff from the theatres I visited" as well as the fellow Marvel fans cheering his journey on social media.

What is something you noticed in Avengers: Endgame that you believe others have missed?

That the reason Thanos lost in Endgame, is the same reason the Avengers lost in Infinity War.
Okay so hear me out. Throughout Infinity War, our heroes were largely ignorant of Thanos, who he was, what he was capable of, what his end goal was. They knew he wanted the stones, they knew that was bad, but they didn’t fully understand the stakes. Only Gamora and Nebula knew, since they were his adopted children.

Bruce Banner is the only one to fill in our Earth-bound heroes about Thanos. Strange and Wong knew there were those who would come seeking the Time Stone, but that was about it. Tony knew that something greater was out there to threaten the Earth, but he didn’t know who.

And guess what? Thanos knew who Tony was. He knew who Strange was. Ebony Maw refers to Strange as “Sorcerer”, and even mocks him about his former profession as a surgeon. Thanos was aware of Vision, hence the reason why Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive hunted him and Wanda.

Thanos had been planning this for a long time. He knew about the Avengers since 2012, but learned about the other important pieces along the way, all while the Avengers were preoccupied with rogue A.I. and Civil Wars.

The Avengers were caught off guard and unprepared by an enemy who knew them well. They mustered a last-minute defense and were steamrolled. Hence the Snap. And just to cement their lack of knowledge, when Thanos snaps his fingers, Thor is confused and asks, “What did you do?”

No one knows what’s just happened until the Snap takes effect. They lost.

Now cut to Endgame. This Thanos is (of course) much younger, yes, but also from 2014. Why is that so important? Because in 2014, there was no Ultron, no Vision, no Scarlet Witch, no Dr. Strange, no Ant-Man, Wasp, Spider-Man, etc., and etc. The pieces aren’t in place, and in his haste, Thanos jumps forward a whole NINE years into the future to face a battered enemy, one who has already fought him and knows what’s at stake. One who has seen the effects of their failure. One that knows they cannot fail again.

Of course, at first it seems easy, the element of surprise and all that, but then it gets…interesting.

And this time, it’s Thanos who assembled a hasty effort to stop an enemy he knew nothing about. And this time, everyone present knows that the fate of the universe rests on their shoulders. Not that they weren’t giving their all before, but this time, they’ll give more. My favorite line in the film hints at this table-turn.

Wanda: You took everything from me.

Thanos: I don’t even know who you are!

Wanda: You will.

So yeah, in short, the Avengers in Infinity War were unprepared and going up against someone who knew them well, and had planned carefully. And in Endgame, Thanos went unprepared against a foe who knew him well, and was prepared.

So yeah, in short, the Avengers in Infinity War were unprepared and going up against someone who knew them well, and had planned carefully. And in Endgame, Thanos went unprepared against a foe who knew him well, and was prepared.

i don't think this is 100% ture, Thanos had access to nebula's memory before the time jump. She should have enough memory to fill most of the gaps, most probably more than that the older Thanos learnt by himself.

I have watched infinity war and endgame at least 20 times (i know it is silly), watched at theatre and couple of times in computer. and many times on TV, i have some movie channels that shows infinity war and end game back to back at least once a moth or so. i think channel is AXN or something.
