    1. Liebherr T 282B: Largest Earth-hauling Truck in the World

    This monster machine Liebherr T 282B is a large earth-hauling dump truck designed in 2004 by a German manufacturer and became the largest earth-hauling truck in the world. The top level model is driven by a 10.5 ton, 90 liter diesel engine, producing 3650 horsepower (2700 kW).

    This huge machine looks like a big house. The Caterpillar 797F is a powertrain haul truck created by Caterpillar Inc. of the US. Its primary purpose is for high production mining and heavy duty construction. It is Caterpillar’s largest, highest payload capacity haul truck and one of the largest in the world. This model was introduced in the last quarter of 2008 and entered full production in 2009. It is much larger and powerful than the 797B model and has a payload capacity of 400 short tons (363 t).The 797F is equipped with a rear axle mounted, computer controlled, seven speed planetary transmission.

    Like the Bagger 288, the TAKRAF RB293 is a giant bucket-wheel excavator made by the German industrial company TAKRAF. It holds the record for the largest terrestrial vehicle in human history. It is used in Australia for removing over-burden from a brown coal mine in Victoria. It is also recognized as the largest and heaviest land vehicle.

    This machine is the largest digging machine in the world. The bucket-wheeler excavator named Bagger 288 (Excavator 288) is built by the German company Krupp. More specifically, it is a mobile strip mining machine. It is the largest tracked vehicle in the world at 13,500 tons. However, Bagger is powered from an external source and is more correctly described as a mining machine which can be moved, while the crawler-transporter was built as a self-powered, load-carrying vehicle.

    This is the world's largest machine that can move. It was shut down after 13 months of operation due to energy and political reasons. The cutting height is 60 meters, hence the name F60. With a length of 502 meters, it is described as the "lying Eiffel Tower". F60 is the series designation of five overburden conveyor bridges used in brown coal (lignite) opencast mining in Germany. They are the largest movable technical industrial machines in the world.

    The Mobile Launcher Platform or MLP is a massive structure that weighs 8.23 million lbs if unloaded and weighs about 11 million pounds with a shuttle on board. This spectacular object measures 160 feet (49 m) by 135 feet (41 m), and is 25 feet (7.6 m) high It is one of three two-story structures used by NASA to support the Space Shuttle stack during its transportation from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to Launch Pad 39-A at the Kennedy Space Center. It also serves as the vehicle’s launch platform.

    The Bucyrus-Erie 1850B which is nicknamed “Big Brutus”, at 160 ft or 49 m high and a weight of 11 million lbs, is the world’s second largest electric shovel. It was in operation from the 1960s to 1970s. It is currently on display in the mining museum of West Mineral, Kansas, USA. Its bucket holds 150 tons and can attain a maximum speed of 0.22 mph. Although it is not the largest electric shovel ever built, it is the largest electric shovel still in existence. In 1962, it cost $6.5 million.

This custom made tractor was built in Montana, USA in 1977 and cost $300,000. It primary use is for deep ripping. It can cultivate 60 acres per hour with a speed of 8 mph. This mammoth tractor weighs 100,000 lbs.

It was built by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) for testing various predictions of high-energy physics. It lies beneath the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva, Switzerland. It is funded by and built in collaboration with over 10,000 scientist and engineers from over 100 countries as well as hundreds of universities and laboratories.

This large machine was deployed by the Soviet navy in the 1980s. With a maximum displacement of 26,000 tons, Typhoons are the largest class of submarine ever built. In its day it was one of the most feared weapons of mass destruction ever made. Technically, it is capable to successfully deploy long-range nuclear weapons. The cost of operations for the Typhoon submarines was so high that the Russian Navy retired all but one of them.

Hovercrafts are used throughout the world because they are unique among all forms of transportation in their ability to travel equally well over land, ice, and water.
