- step 2 => divide -8x^3 by x you get -8x^2
- then multiply -8x^2 by x and then +2 you get -8x^3-16x^2
- and then (-8x^3+7x+1) - (-8x^3-16x^2) = 16x^2+7x+1
- step 3 => divide 16x^2 by x you get +16x
- then multiply +16x by x and then +2 you get 16x^2 + 32x
- and then (16x^2+7x+1) - (16x^2 + 32x) = -25x + 1
- step 4 => divide -25x by x you get -25
- then multiply -25 by x and then +2 you get -25x-50
- and then (-25x + 1) - (-25x-50) = 51

remainder is (which is blue color) = 51
