The first tariff information was not in SL rupees and was not details of any of the packages for SL eithr...plus it was mentioned that "Not Confirmed"...
Some dumb idiots around SL thought it would be the same rates as in India here also...then got highly excited...agitated...then started spreading the big rumour about Airtel...
No information at all about the tariffs for SL was at all released by Airtel itself officially...so Airtel is not to be blamed on that...
But, it should be noted that they took advantage of the HIGH early subscriptions, which was triggered by the fake rumours and propaganda provided by the smartass people in SL, and it spread like fire due to the high talkative nature of Sri lankans...and naturally Airtel did not release any details knowing that if they did, the high subscription rate would drop, so they took advantage of that, now see how many SL people have joined Airtel?
This is how people fall into trouble, get tricked easily...and how strategic businesses take advantag of it...
