There were vacancies for Data Processing Officers at Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force. You can be ranked as a Captain if you are holding a degree and can be ranked as a Lieutenant if you hold a diploma, so on…

yes its true .. post is software engineer rank is captain

they recruited ppl some time back abt 2 months , salary was i think 40 or 70k i cant clearly remember

If you have a diploma (2 years) from a recognized institue like Singapore Informatics, NIBM, AppTec,NIIT, SLIIT, London Tech,..... You can very well find a Job as a Software Developer in a Software Company,

In 2 to 3 Years You can become a Software Engineer


In some firms you need not to wait for 2 years to become a Software Enginee4r

But there are no easy sheme to become a Softwre Engineer with one yea Course as some people advertise in medisa , You need atleast 1 1/2 year Exp with a diploma like NIBM Dip,NIBM Higher Dip, HND,NCC,DNIIT,ACS,BCS

Most of these diploma give uyou the direct entry to final year of BSc in IT or relevent degree

As to your question about ALs, It's not a must to have AL if you have the relevent professional qualification
