Hi, if you buy fully GSM phone (already unlocked and twise the price compare to the phones from operators) you dont need to worry about nothing (only rich can offord them phones).

    BUT
if you have an operator logo on your phone (at the startup) that means your phone is locked to the cell operator. normaly , Dialog GSM, Celtell, Vodafone, Orange, Rogers, Cingular, O2, Virgin, Tmobile and many more.

    So
Them operators give locked phones for free when the customer sign a contract with them for 12 or 18 month. you can only use their sim card for that period of time. after the end of the contract you have legal rights to ask the operator to unlock your phone, but obviuosly the answer is NO or F off.

so its better when you buy a phone buy them OFFLINE (100% GSM)
