Did u guys remember before about 4 years earlier, when mobitel turned in to GSM network they also launched GPRS facility. Sri lankans and all mobitel engineers never experience GPRS before and very few of GPRS enable devices used on that stage.. Dialog also introduced GPRS to their Post Paid customers.. By the way mobitel had lots of holes in the system and some are still not fixed.. One major thing is FREE SMS throw GPRS.. normaly earlier days sms sent by GSM frequency, but when it becomes packed switched data line, sms can also send by switching GPRS frequency.. Al you need to do was enable 2 options on phones.
1. Switch on GPRS always online/ When availale in Network selection menu.
2. Under sms settings turn on prefered connection in to Packed data or umts
so now sms will send by re routing the billing process.. So billing never involved for there messages.. At least 1 year those two network subscribers sent millions of worth sms without spending a cent. Those two company technicians couldn't find how this happen. But when those couldn't send sms becoz of older phone models ownering people called customer care and asked.. Then they got red alert and banded the facility.. The funny thing is it is happening to Airtel now..
