Ado Ubuntu is the best effort 2 make GUI linux. Coz they r not tryn' too hard to COPY windows like redhat 'n mandrake. It's LINUX It's best if u could use the original linux command line interface. Use linux 'Konsole' as a start. GUI is still very very limited.

macho ubuntuwala windows waladana softwares ehema danna puluwanda i mean for and example :- 3d max, photoshop etc ?

if you r dead on photoshop, you can run it with wine (i tried CS3), dun know about 3Dmax. couz dat price is too high for me. but i know sm guys who switched from 3Dmax to Blender. couz Blender is way better than dat. it uses less resources, and easy to learn. and its the only 3D soft dat in built Game engine .. wht else.

Try Kubuntu 9.10. The interface is better since it uses KDE 4.2
