This is the go green server I'm gonna get!
What is Go Green? It means the server is environmental friendly (uses less amount of power).
Specs :
Intel Celeron 430 1.8GHz (35W TDP)
Foxconn G31 motherboard
400W PSU
1 x 160GB Hitachi HDD
2GB Kingston RAM, 800MHz
Samsung DVD-Writer
The total power consumption should be less than 60W (around 53W)
which means my server uses less power than a light bulb.
The current server I have is a monster... over 150W (A 550W PSU is not enough for it
) its a Celeron D 2.8GHz... heats my room like a room heater and need 5 cooling fans in total to keep it at 58C idle... believe it?
Advantages I will have once I get my Go Green PC...
1. More Backup Time with UPS
2. Less heat in the room
3. Less noise from fans (MORE SLEEP YAY!)
4. Lower Power Bill
5. Ability to run from our 650VA generator
6. A LAN PORT ON BOARD
!!
