How old are you? Were you at least born in 1983?

I have personally ask from many Tamils whether they are willing to go back to Sri Lanka if they get a separate land.
Majority response is "No, Why should we go there? We have a great life style here"
And then when I ask "Why do you pay LTTE a portion of your salary"
Their response is "No option. Can't die"

Simple as that.

Personally I have seen many Tamil people in Australia who has a great heart. Sometimes better than some of my Sinhalese brothers

So think before you post something bad about someone.

I think this is where differnce start...tamils who are in alien countries and sri lanka....I have so many tamil friends those who love their country and willing to come back and not giving cent to LTTE and thy don't want seperate land..all they want is normal life like old days....

Those who are benifited from conflict in 1983 and later part of war stying out side of SL are not willing to come back becouse they are used to that laxurious life...they support LTTE to continue this war...and they knows LTTE requre their support all the time ....

If these tamil people reallywanted to help their people in SL there are so may ways to help them but sad to say non of the help. They only help LTTE...

I agree with you for one thing, tamils are not our enamies..they very good people and some time better than ours...we all are sri lankans.

but we must understand where the difference is.......

Its because people who think like you, we had to endure all this brutality for the past 30 years. What are you trying to say? that 1983 nothing happened ? Tamils were not killed by extremists Sinhalese?? I don’t know the exact figures of how many people died in 83 riots, but some say up to 3000 may have been killed (Wikipedia). And just because LTTE ended up killing more people makes the 83 killings justifiable? Is that what you are trying to say? And as Sinhalese we were the victims and the innocent race in all this ?? Then are we any better than them?And do you think 1983 was the first incident like this to ever happen in SL? There have been anti Tamil riots in Sri lanka from 1950s (i.e : 1956 Galoya, 1958 islandwide). All because of few extreme irrational people. As the majority we should be more considerate and responsible for our actions.

IMO Sinhala extremists are to blame equally for this war as the LTTE and Tamil extremists.

If we are to go forward as one nation then we have to accept responsibility to what had happened (Both Tamil and Sinhala people), but leave our differences aside and try to work together to build up the country. Not sit and debate over who is to blame.

Majority of tamils are not supporters of LTTE.. Its only a few. If you watch closely most of the supporters are yousters aged less than 25. So that means they were born after 1983. They do not know the root of this problem. They only know what have been told by that LTTE. on the other hand LTTE did that to brainwash them because LTTE need that to stay alive.
