NIC will not be a big problem. Sometimes the DL could be.
My wife lost her license about six years ago. Her wallet was stolen. I had the number of the DL. You have to trace all the old records from Werahera even with their computer systems. She went to Werahera and they said they cant find the records as it's a bit too old. Also probably her original paperwork hasn't been forwarded to them from the kachcheri where she obtained it. That was the excuse.

Eventually I had to resort to contacting a known girl who works in there in a different section, she herself went into the records section and found it within two hours and got a new one issued too. That's how things work.

පොලිසියේ ඇන්ට්‍රි එකක් දාන්න. ෆොටෝ ටික අරගෙන ඇන්ට්‍රි කොපියත් අරගෙන AG Office එකෙන් සහතික කරලා දෙන උප්පැන්න සහතිකේ මුල්පිටපතක් අරගෙන ග්‍රාමසේවක මුණගැහෙන්න. එයා දෙන ෆෝම් එක පුරවලා එක් දින ස්වා ද සාමාන්‍ය සේවා කියලා ග්‍රාමසේවකට කියන්න. මුද්දර ගාස්තු එතෙන්ට ගෙවන්න. එක්දින සේවයෙන් ගන්නවා නම් ග්‍රාමසේවක දෙන ඩොකියුමන්ට් ටික අරගෙන AG Office ඔකේ තියන හැදුනුම්පත් කාර්යාලයට යන්න. එතනින් ඔක්කොම ඩොකියුමන්ට් චෙක් කරලා ඒ ටික එන්විලොප් එකකට දාලා සීල් කරලා දෙනවා. ඒක අරන් පහුවදාම ID office එකට යන්න. උදෙන්ම යන තරමට ලේසී. ඉස්සරලාම තියන කවුනට්ටර් එකට ඩොකියුමන්ට් ටික බාරදීලා ඊලග බිල්ඩින් එකේ උඩ තට්ටුවට ගිහින් සල්ලි බදින්න. ඒ කරලා බලන් ඉන්න තියෙන්නේ. පැය 4 කින් විතර නම කතා කලාම ගිහින් ID එක චෙක් කරලා ගන්න තියෙන්නේ. මම හැදුවේ සහරාන් ගහපු කාලේ උදේ 8ට විතර බාර දුන්නේ 2 වෙනකොට ID එක අතට ලැබුනා. නෝමල් සර්විස් දැම්මොත් මාස 3-4ක් යනවා එන්න. අලුත් Plastic ID එක නම් කොපි එකක් නිකුත් කරනවා. ඒකට අඩු ගානක් යන්නේ.
