TLDR: Apparently you’re ONLY paying for the “peak” data and “off peak” data bundle is considered “bonus” data since the network is underutilized during those hours. There seem to be a bottleneck in the existing infrastructure therefore allowing more bandwidth during peak hours seem to be a challenge without necessary upgrades. Don’t expect ISPs to merge peak and off peak data anytime soon.

so basically api 1490 package ekak tiyenawa nam 36GB walata thamai pay karanne
that means 1GB costs Rs.41 plus tax

No offense but this article is pure crap. This is more like 'Why we are not giving you a better service'. TRCSL should not have a say in why ISPs can't provide a better service. They are there just to regulate only. This is not about making night data available for peak time. This is about giving the customers more data and if the present ISPs can't do that why not open the market to global ISPs who are willing to provide us that. Getting rid of SLT monopoly in laying physical cables will open the market for other potential ISPs. We all know that TRCSL is not about raising the bar but lowering it so the ISPs can survive without improving their businesses.

If some bitch is trying to justify ISPs in Sri Lanka and their charges here you go
