The flood story is long before the Genesis. More than thousands of years ago the Sumerians & the Baylonians have the same story written in their tablets in cuneiform. Instead of Noah, the Sumerians had Zisudra & the Akkadians had it as Astrahasis (meaning very wise)

A 3700 year old tablet is said to describe how the ark was built. It wasn't really a boat that we think of. It's a coracle. A huge circular shape (like half a coconut shell) built of rope, strengthened by wood and waterproofed.
No steeing, all it had to do was to float till the floods subsided.

So in reality there isn't an Ark to find.
