Are Tattoos of Buddha/ monks allowed nowadays..? Still remember the fiasco involving a Brit about a decade ago..

Why is it that SL Buddhist preachers always want to convince the temporary/ ending nature inherent in life and not guide followers towards the little things in life to generate dopamine eg by singing, a good game of beach volleyball or a scrumptious buffet.. 🤔

And I find countries that celebrate Easter/ Christmas in style, use the F word, play contact sport, generally are happier and migrant oriented.. 😃

I don't think it a direct legal issue but tattoos can be interpret as disrespecting the culture or the religion

If you understand the core of the Buddhism you won't get confused here
Buddhism promotes Nirvana, the eternal freedom
The only way to achieve this is by breaking the desire to anything
Singing or anything else that gives a dopamine edge would attach you to foresaid desire so it is not promoted in Buddhism

    Thanks for your opinion brah..

Mind if I am asking, in your opinion, then true buddhists, should not sing, at all, is it..?

Just FYI, even the fastest growing religion, Islam, considered to have very strict boundaries, could have practising Muslims, like the world famous DJ Aqeel..

And those traditional Islamic songs that pray and honour the God can be quite soothing..

Anyway we'll leave it at that brah.. ✌

Sorry for the long answer but this is the most simplest explanation that I could come up with
Actually in Buddhism there isn't a strict rule saying a person cannot sing or engage in activities that make them happy, as long as they are not harming others. It's not restricted in the same way some other religions may restrict certain activities.

Please don't see this in a simple binary way of "allowed" and "not allowed." There are many nuanced answers in between.

What I was trying to explain is that singing and similar activities do not directly pave the way to Nirvana. In core Buddhist teachings, they are not encouraged as part of the main path not because they are sinful, but because they are not central to liberation.

    Think of it like this:

You are on a long road trip to a destination called Nirvana.
To get there, you simply need to get in the car and drive toward that destination.

Before starting, you check the condition of the car, fuel level, tire pressure, and maybe prepare some snacks for the journey. You put on your favorite music and begin driving.

Along the way, you may pass beautiful landscapes and stop to enjoy them. You might drive through chaotic towns and need to speed up to avoid getting caught in the chaos. You may stop at a roadside restaurant for a good meal, refuel the car, wash it, or take a nap.

Regardless of all that, you are still driving toward your destination.

Listening to music, sightseeing, resting, refueling, and servicing your vehicle are not the main purpose of your journey. They are side activities. You can do them while traveling, but they may increase the time it takes to reach your destination.

In core Buddhism, the teachings mainly explain how to travel directly toward Nirvana. The side activities vary from person to person. Some may travel quickly with fewer distractions. Others may take longer because they engage more in side activities.

If you sing while practicing, that's fine. But if singing becomes your main focus, then naturally the journey may take more time.
But in some cases people need these side activities to prepare them to travel the journey like going to the temple, Offering flowers, helping others, Listining to Dharma sermons. All these will help you to prepare yourself to go to Nirvana but you must not stop traveling while doing any of these. Traveling is done through meditation

That’s the perspective I was trying to explain.
