Good to think back..

Late 80s I borrowed a Sinclair ZX Spectrum from a friend of mine. Did small programs and games with it. Hooked up to TV and with a cassette recorder, had some fun

Early 90s I bought a 486DX2 desktop. That was my first computer. Before that my wife(before marrying) had a Intel 286 desktop and remember using Harvard Graphics(DOS) and Ventura. Did some C coding. Back in the days, I also worked as a hardware engineer on Xerox Daybreak

First laptop was 1997 Toshiba Satellite Pro 430CDS. This was given to me by the company I worked for.
Thereafter I never bought a computer, l always use company laptops.
