Playstation 2 Problems

Hello,
My Playstation 2 apparently has a 'short-circuit' & cannot be repaired . Has anyone else here had this problem? The "Sony Computer Entertainment" screen doesn't show, it tries to reset itself. I've given it to Na***rs but they say it's hard to locate the problem & it cannot be repaired. Is there another place that undertakes Playstation 2 repairs?
Also, if anyone has a Slim Playstation 2 that has a disc-read error or some other (repairable) error & would like to sell it, let me know.

So where did you give it for repairs? Does anyone else know of a place?

I read on the internet that the black screen (when it is switched on) shows up when the BIOS of the console is short-circuited or affected in some way. Comments?

So...I still didn't get any information about other places that repair PlayStations. Anyone out there? Let me know!
Also my mp3 player (Kingston KPEX) fell while charging & now doesn't work at times. I think it has a loose connection inside because of the impact. Anyone know of a reliable place I can get it checked?
