I'm using windowsXP sp2 operating system

the thing is my system got viruses and I clean through new virus guard
but while removing viruses some system file also deleted automatically

so I having important datas in C:/.../MyDocuments. so now windows giving
error bcoz of missing system file. by the way i was re-install winXP thru CD from bigining without remove my important C: datas

now my problem is earlier my user folder is appearing but i cannot
access (message appearing access denied) now i want get that data
please what shall I do

(I was create startup disk n try to get the datas through windows dos
mode. but that also cannot access to C: drive)

please help dear elakiri members

You install a OS (XP or other) to another partition of the PC but NOT to the "C:" drive where you have installed the current OS. And take care not to format full HDD. After installing a new OS to another partition, try to access the "C:" drive while you are on that newly installed OS. Sometimes this will work and you will be able to access unaccessible data on "C:".
If this does not work then try a file recovering software like "Recover My Files"

this will work.. go to my computer --->tools-->folder options --> ---and click on the view tab-- scroll down anduntick simple file sharong option ...
then save it ... after find the folder where u get the access denided message and right click properties and click on security tab ...press add in that window and u will get another window press advanced find the user ur currently logged in or giv access to everyone by selecting evertone from that window and add that user ..after that u will be able to open that folder ..hopes it helps ..gud luck

mame oye okkoma try kera eheth folder eke arinda baha. problem is in that folder even cannot view the properties
and also even not showing folder capacity

but hard drive showing the capacity

so dear I'm not using any network. this is my personal laptop

I'm guessing your C drive is NTFS and you had a password in your Loign before.. When you putting a password in to your useraccount in XP if your file format is NTFS, WinXP will ask you whether you wonna to make your Documents Private? If you pressed Yes. Then XP will lock that folder only accessible by specific user account.. This i just for protect your privacy...
So you can't access that folder because it's locked using NTFS security.. You can't even access that folder from another PC(I never tried the Linux though).. Dos can't access it either (Anyway normal DOS can't read NTFS partitions)...So you gonna need a NTFS data recovery software... Try this and copy all your data to different location using this software..
