Need more details to make an informed decision, what is the exact CPU model ? Chipset and integrated gfx adapter ?
Because There are several different types of Dual Core Processors
- Intel® Core™ Duo : 32bit ONLY ! Usually shipped with motherboard having the Intel 945 chipset, GMA 950 integrated graphics : Napa platform (2006).
- Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 1st generation : supports 64bit, Usually shipped with motherboard having the Intel 965 chipset, GMA X3100 integrated graphics : Santa Rosa platform (2007).
- Intel® Core™ 2 Duo 2nd generation : supports 64bit, 800MHz/1066MHz FSB, DDR2 RAM, Usually shipped with motherboard having Intel Mobile 4 Express series chipset, GMA X4500 integrated graphics : Montevina platform (2008) AKA Centrino 2.
If it is the first generation Core Duo then NOT worth it

. Doesn’t even support 64bit computing and has very weak outdated chipset. If it has a 1st generation Core 2 Duo (most likely scenario) then the proce is not that bad

, but if you are getting the latest Centrino 2 notebook then that’s a pretty good deal

!!
Hope this helps
