Police not corrupt says police - Sirawata Eththada...?

The police force is not corrupt and if so then it should be proven with evidence instead of just making statements, Deputy Inspector General (IGP) Administration of police N.K Illangakoon told reporters this evening when asked to respond to statements that the police was among the most corrupt institutions in the country.

Sports Minister C.B Ratnayaka had said this week that Sri Lanka cricket administration together with the police and education departments were the most corrupt institutions in the country.

However DIG Illangakoon said one cannot make statements without backing it with evidence and added that if there are complains of corruption against the police then it should be taken up with the Bribery Commission and the police hierarchy will act on such complains.
