so now I get this full stroy. So this is a reply for the governemnt to show their responsibility. he he.
But however , see the red marked things. THis is the real NAKED truth behind
the sex industry and porn industry. But the problem is gov can't stop this like this.
cos then they have to stop torrent P2P file sharing. In my knowledge it's not
possible to stop P2P file sharing cos it's techinical not a centeral server like rapidshare. The digital media is distributed among all the places. And it's sometimes
high speed more than RS. when more local users are downloading the torrents,
then locally there will be more dentisisty of that digital meadia, then downloading will
be increased , but forign traffic will be reduced ( which is a good thing for the
professional internet users ). so it will increase the internet and downloading speed
rather than reducing it.
too sad , the government is foolsih enoughf to close downthe megashare like sites. it's a next step that go forward of the technology than
actually limiting it. Gov did a crazy thing baning the file sharing sites like RS. But
baning the sex sites are good. Even extoric sites should be banned like smartllanka.
anyway good good and good ! porn should be banned ! Good luck president.But
he should think about the file sharing sites. Baning the file sharing sites isn't the way
to do. Instead the governemnt should talk with that file sharing sites and come
to an agreement with them that they surely filter the porn and xxx related download
links. It should be implemented on the file sharing side , possibly we don't have the
technology and infastructure inside our ISP's to filter the RS and file sharing context
locally because it over the scope and capacity of our largets DNS server. we should
do something that like china gov talk with the google.cn and what they did.Then it's
a good thing.

yep but there are other solutions than proxy servers...i know the method.. i cant post it here coz it has limited bandwidth..and faster than a proxy..u can machan u can.. u can go to those sites...

There is a truth in what he telling , see there are abortions around 700-800 happning
per day in sri lanka today. So no one here to speak about them. Everyone speaks about porn watchers
are evil. But most of them aren't. Sometimes it helps you to realease the stress and
come to the realxed state. so the ppl who watching it , it's their freedom on a
one side , but I can't say it's right or wrong.
But I say what the government doing is correct ! because baning the sex sites like
this ( mostely the sri lankan onces ) will help to reduce the local sex industry.
then there will be no longer sri lankan meat , but there will be forign meat. But
meat industry is a meat industry , hell is around it. If you read the lifes of the
sex workers in this porngraphic industry then you can see how they suffered due
to this industry. Sometimes they are raped and forced and cheated and get forced
to this industry. These things are wrong. it's a HR violation. So while stopping
lankan sex sites and like this it will automatically down the local sex film industry.
Good for the sri lankan females who are suffering from this. There are stories
that I hear who are innocent femails who are reaped and addicted and forced to
the drug and get forced into this industry. when this industry is lost no longer
it will happen.

sites, not stop those local sites and the local industry. that is a hell. you can access
them using a proxy. so they are still hosted. Not like this to be happen. The
governemnt should invoke laws to these site owners and the ppl who behind this
film industry ( I mean local sex film industry). Then only it will work.But what
government did ? they did just , simply filter those sites. they even not likes to
take leagal action on this cos the site owners are have the political relationships.
I think president should take this responsibility and do this straight if they want
or do nothing and stop taking other's internet freedom.

To us and most people on elakiri who know a thing or two about internet. But for all those people who form the biggest voter base who have no idea what the internet is or how it works but only an inkling of what it is. For those people, it's magic, a morally correct thing our president is doing. So whether or not filtering will work is out of the question.
Only thing I can agree why this is a good thing, is to stop the real perverts from secretly capturing images of innocent (sometimes rather stupid) girls and distributing them on the world wide web.
The next option I can think of is: Strict adult only access to pornography through ISP control and then prosecuting to the highest extent of the law anyone caught distributing porn. Only access should be given to paid services that children cannot access without the parents questioning credit card statements.
