i used to update to the latest build of all the softwares, but I don't do that anymore. It is hard work

+I have seen some pull towards K Lite media codec pack here.PLEASE DONT USE IT.It will crew up the filters evewn after a clean installation.Its better to use CCCP (combined community codec pack) instead.With DivX sodec .that'll give good stability.

Hm.. Sure K-Lite can make Probs. If u did Installed all the Codecs.. Keep it to Recommended Selections.. Then all are ok..
CCCP is a Combination of FFDShow+Haali+Mpeg2+VSFilter and some Other Codecs.. CCCP having old revisions of each Codecs.. No XviD, No DivX, No Real, No QT and lack of Audio Codecs but with that crappy Zoom Player..
