Do a survey and see how many people who are running on onboard graphics install newer drivers than the ones that either Windows automatically installs or ones that come with the drivers setup disc.

It would be definitely less than 5%

Agreed.less than 2%.But the number have increased dramatically over the lower end of 2007.So 5% is safer.

Don't know about the E8400. E8400 should be pretty expensive.

However, a 160GB hard disk can't be more than 6000.
DDR2-667 KVR RAM was at 2500 when i last checked. But people say the prices have gone up a little. Not sure though.
Don't know the prices of exact motherboard model, but you should be able to find motherboards with G31 chipset for around 12000-13000 or even cheaper if you go with Foxconn.
For the DVDRW, go for a Samsung SH-203 series drive. They are the best these days. Not any other Samsung model though. They are not good. The prices should be around 4000.

Intel will be dropping LGA775 in 2009 anyway. :/

fraking true..our LG775's are already outdated, in a few months intel will jump to LGA 1060 and will replace the thing we call FSB with Quick Path, something just like hyper transport, and lock overclockin and we are all fraked, ohh the horror
