Find the weight of a sphere.

PS: 8 year olds haven't possibly got a knowledge about algebra. So can you think how a child could solve this?

sphere 2kg, cube 4kg

No need for algebra,
one set of sphere and cube is 6kg, there are two sets of those plus sphere on the left.
So 6kg x 2 + sphere is 14kg
Hence sphere is 2kg
Hence cube is 6kg - 2kg which is 4kg

A pair of a circle and square equal 6, so 2 pairs of circles and 2 pairs of squares equal 12.
but 2 pairs of squares and 3 circles equals 14. so that means extra circle is 2
