Hi guys!
We are planning to launch a printed magazine for Srilankans with majority of the topics targeting at the young people. But it will be a general magazine which will suite all age groups. The main idea behind this is to reach people who has no internet access or computer skills and to reach Srilankans around the world in a more traditional manner.
As i said before, we are mostly targeting at generally skilled audience who don't have access to the internet or lacks in English language skills so it will be 70% in Sinhala language. But you can add content in other languages too.
Top professionals in varies subjects will contribute to this magazine and in the same time our elakiri members can contribute to the magazine too. I haven't decided about topics and the arrangement. But looking forward to disucuss it in another thread with our elakiri members.
This printed magazine will also contain an interactive CD/DVD + Colour poster which will totally cost some big number. But planning to give the total package in very cheap price with the help of the advertisers.
So the final outcome will be a very popular magazine with quality content for a cheap price tag which everyone can afford.
So i want to know how you guys and girls like to contribute for this?
1. You can write articles or reviews etc... (But it should be your own work)
2. You can help with your graphics and other designing skills.
(2D and 3D graphics, remember we have an interactive CD/DVD too)
3. You can provide your content.
(Artworks, Novels, Poems etc..)
4. You can translate other member's articles to Sinhala language.
5. You can help with advertisers or sponsors.
6. Become a distributor in your country or area.
7. Any other way you like to help this project.
I totally aiming to make this a very popular magazine more than making profit from this. But if we get financially successful i hope to pay everyone who contributed for this project. But hope you guys look at this like a community project other than a method of making money. Only then the real team work and quality content come out.
