Problem with formatting a computer

Hey guys I have a kind of a big problem. I got a P4 3.0 computer from one of my friends. I have some trouble of formatting it. He said he has misplaced his driver & motherboard & utilities CD's. The computer is in a good condition but the problem is its running slow. So it needs a format. I know there will be a problem when I format it without the CD's. What should i do about this Guys? Any suggestions or solutions for this matter?

Takes around 10 minutes to load windows & 10 minutes to turn the computer off. Thats why. & the hard disk is full of useless software which i dont need
