A demonstration held in London has called the Sri Lanka government to stop abductions and disappearances.

Protesters who gathered in front of the Sri Lankan High commission in London on Tuesday blamed the government for not being able to stop abductions that are increasing at an alarming rate in Sri Lanka, as they claimed.

“If somebody else is carrying out thesese abductions the government needs to take action. That is the responsibility of a legitimate government and that is not happening in Sri Lanka,“ he said.

The demonstration was organized by the London branch of the Socialist Frontline Party and was joined by several political parties and civil organizations. The members of the United National Party, Nava Samasamaja Party, United Socialist Party, and Tamil Information Centre and were among the protesters.
