ලංකාවේ ප්‍රධාන සමාගමකින් ගෙන්නන Midway ( no remember the brand name) Patient Monitor කියන screen 10 ක් විතර දීලා තිබ්බා, NHSL Epilepsy Unit එකේ Project ට. ඒකේ Biomedical Engineer හිටියේ පට්ට වස තුර්කි ගෑණියෙක්. ගෑණි ඕවා check කළේ ඇඟිල්ලේ කඩදාසි කෑල්ලක් අලවගෙන Finger probe එකට තියාගෙන. බඩු ෆේල් වුනත්, උන් Gov ඉංජිනේරුවන් බැලන්ස් කරලා බඩු වලට සල්ලි ගත්තා.

Basically you guys are barking up the wrong tree.... Just because a cheap oximeter gives a reading with an inserted pencil doesn't make it a fake or inferior to the one that gives a warning that displays "Finger not inserted". Not all devices are made idiot proof to cut the costs...
All cheap oximeters are inaccurate and notoriously inaccurate when it comes to dark skins.

I think this Pathum Kerner guy for once has said something worth while. These oxy meters are using optics to get the reading and hell yes there are enough ways to fool it. It isn't the most accurate way of measuring. But then again something is better than nothing.

True.. I didn;t listen to it. It's good to have one and watch the trend of the readings. But you don't rely on the reading itself.
