The entire Puthukkudiyiruppu area in Mullaittivu was brought under army control this morning, the Military said. The Safe Zone where the LTTE is now confined to together with trapped civilians is the only remaining area to be cleared.
The Ministry of Defence has also released photos of a heavy gun that was discovered during a search of the captured area.
