16GB RAM gahala 128SSD gahapan m2 nam wada hoday
- Huge RAM- 8GB RAM for programming is the bare minimum. Below 8 GB, resource hungry IDEs like Android Studio (it really uses a lot of RAM) will not run smoothly. I suggest that go for a laptop having 8GB RAM, and then upgrade it yourself to 12GB by adding another 4GB of DDR4 RAM. Don’t go for 16GB RAM as that will go waste and it will cost more money.
- Nice Processor- Make sure you laptop has a decent i5 CPU or atleast i3 8th gen processor (buying any i3 below 8th gen will give you very poor performance). You will have to run your IDEs and run the codes and compile them quickly. So a better CPU will save your time.
- SSD- One of the biggest performance deciding factor.Mostly laptops don’t come with an SSD in India. But many of them do have an M.2 SATA SSD slot, so that in future you can install an SSD in it. SSD will quickly load all your files, boot Windows and open Android Studio in a flash, compared to HDDs. So SSDs will save lots of time. Buy a laptop which either has an SSD or is either having M.2 SSD slot. When buying an M.2 SSD for your laptop, make sure its bigger than 64GB.
- Backlit keyboard- A very nice feature for programmers who work till late night, if you don’t want to make apps in late night, then skip this feature.
- GPU- Depending on the app you are developing, you may or may not need a GPU. If ou are making games, then have a GPU, if you make normal apps, then GPU isn’t necessary.
I always say that if you want a laptop for programming, then no doubt, buy a MacBook, which-ever fits in your budget. MacBooks are very overpriced, but they are having all the sweet features I have listed above. So if you want a laptop only for programming, then no doubt, buy ANY MacBook.
Else look for other options which fits in your budget.
