JRJ’s grandson supports President Rajapaksa

Former President J. R. Jayawardene’s grandson Pradeep Jayewardene yesterday pledged his support to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the forthcoming Presidential election.
Addressing a press conference at his ward Place residence yesterday (10) Jayewardene said that he strongly felt that only Rajapaksa could maintain the peace achieved after crushing LTTE terrorism which was a curse for nearly thirty years hampering all development work that brought misery to all sections of the people of this country.
"I had been supporting President Rajapaksa right from the time he launched an assault on the LTTE and I was confident from the very start that he would defeat terrorism and usher in peace in this country", Pradeep jayewardene said.
Former Gampaha Deputy Mayor Gamini Senarath and Patha Hewaheta Pradeshya Sabha member D. M. Dipal A. S. Gunatilleke were associated with Jayawardene at the conference.
