After 55 it is optional to retire till 60. Maximum is 60 .(except stated in Constitution eg Supreme Court Judges 66 and Court of appeal 63.
Members of Parliament are not Government Servants though they will also receive a pension under different law similar to many other such Central Bank , University etc

If Head of the department or secretary of ministry wants they can extend the age?? Competent authority means them.
