In a one sided game Thurstan routed Ananda 35-5 in their Singer Under 20 Division 1B inter-schools rugby encounter played at Longdon Place yesterday.
Thurstan having led 13-5 at he breather got their points through two goals, three tries, one drop goal and a penalty as against a try by Ananda. Full back Ishan Samarakkody went over for two tries.
Centre Mithun Dhanushka, wing three Kavinda Gihan and prop forward Viduranga Weerasinghe scored one each while Fly half Eranga Costa made the two conversions and booted over the penalty and the drop goal.

Isipathana recorded their first win of the Singer Under 20 Division 1A rugby tournament when they defeated S. Thomas' by 30 points to 24 after leading 30-12 at lemons.
Isipathana points came off two goals, two tries and two penalties as against two goals and two tries by S. Thomas'.
The Thomians put in a fine fight back in the second half as they succeeded in staving off the challenge put in by the Isipathanians and preventing them to make any score in the second half.
Isipathana's tries were scored by winger Umayanga Sooriyabandara, fly half Prasad Devinda, flanker Deshan Arachchige and scrum half Mohamed Rizwan wih the conversions and penalties being put over by full back Malik Jumad.

Trinity scraped through to a nail-biting one point win over Kingswood who suffered their first defeat of the on-going Singer Under 20 Division 1A inter-school rugby tournament match played at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy on Saturday.
Trinity after holding on to a comfortable 16-3 lead at half time underwent some anxious moments before overcoming their hometown rivals Kingswood by 21 points to 20.
Trinity’s points came through three tries and two penalties while Kingswood got their points from a goal, two tries and a penalty.
For Trinity winger Mohamed Shehan went over for two tries with prop forward Gothabaya Makesh scoring the other with centre Kanchana Ramanayake booting over the two penalties.

Royal who led 15-0 at the breather accumulated their points through a goal and four tries to a try by the Rajans.
Prop forward Yudith Karunaratne, fly half Tharaka Wijesuriya, second flanker Shehan Pathiranage and full back Chamara Dabare who converted one try were the try scorers with No 8 Sathsara Basanayake being the try scorer for the Rajans.
