    Hi EMES ...
I am not comparing dude. Appreciate your idea.
But what they are doing is very bad.
I don't agree with saying about MR gvt, because, though what you say is true about the economy, telecommunication is the best business today in the world and still you can make big profits under economic recession. Otherwise why Airtel wants to come.
So Dialog is not simply doing the right thing.

Telecommunication may be the best business in the world ..but today in Sri Lanka we are in to a major economic crisis. Almost all private busineses are suffering because of that. I know that because I am also working in the private sector and work closely with some of the best companies in Sri Lanka.

I dont say what dialog does is 100% correct , but they never forced you to get these things they just offered you. it is entirely upto you to decide to accept it or not. They are compelled to do these kinda things due to heavy competition. probably they want to regain their market share which they lost to mobitel in recent times with this new package. So in a business perspective we cant blame them. Even I would have done the same thing If i were on the seat of Hans Wijeyasuriya.

This is like comparing Apples with Strawberries...
    Yeah both are sweet.

    But

    1) Sakvithi was a person. But Dialog is a company with a board of directors.

    2) Price Waterhouse Coopers are doing Dialog's financial (accounts) audit. So up to a certain extend we can clearly say there are no frauds. But on the other hand, Sakvithi was fraudulantly earning money without proper accounts or auditing

    3) Dialog is a registered company in Sri Lanka. But sakvithi is not a registered financial institution.

    4) Dialog accomplishes their promises. But Sakvithi did not.

    5) Dialog has atleast sort of better customer care than Sakvithi.

    6) Sakvithi evaporated suddenly. But Dr. Hans has not and never will - because Dialog is not a financial institution.

The only similarity is they both earn money by advertising and creating a brand around them.

So from my perspective, it is not fair to compare a thief to a prestigous organisation. You might get even sued for this act if done publicly. :)

Don't try to compare everything. Because everything cannot compare to each other bro :D

Indeed airtel is a big player in india...but you guys have to read news papers if your a intelligent enough....what they have siad is they are not able to give same rates for sri lankans since current service providers do not like to provide interconnections...And you stupid guys looking for free out going and incoming packges....Also that bugger comparing dialog with sakvithi....ar you kiked off by sakvithi????...Dialog has not threten for their customers to take their sims. but they provide a good cutomer service for us..Event Mobitel. tigo, hutch, export sri lankan money to other countries...do yo know about that..well dude....learn something rather than wasting time on internet...world is very big...you have to think more before you open your damn mouth....

you also on oneside. whether interconnection charges are high or low, its not a matter for Airtel in longterm. because they are the 1st in india and 4th in the world. they will use mkt penetration theory first to capture the market. when their subscriber base expand, no point in having interconnections as all other companies will be bankrupt. i worry this may lead to a monopoly like Shell in the future if others cant survive.

    Friends,
I do not see much difference between these too.
Did you pay for the lifetime discount they advertised few weeks ago..
So now what happened to that money as they have come up with new blaster package ?????

For this package, you have to pay Rs.500 to change it.
DO NOT PAY. You will get it for free soon.

Because soon they have to give it for free or come up with a more attractive benefits in order to remain in the market.

UNDERSTAND : What they are doing is collecting all your money beforehand and export it to Malaysia.

Some CSR Projects have been carried out in order to build the image as Sakvithi did.

Just think about the money they are collecting from 5 Million customers in these scams. 5,000,000 * Rs 500.

Now tell me who is better,

    Sakvithi or Dialog.

    My answer is Nothing Much.

DIALOG SUCKS!!! :oo:  :frown:

    Hey Isurumuni,
What is the pain you have to call me Bugger. Mind your language please.

I just aid what is being happenned. I see that you have taken this as a personal issue. Whatever the marketing tactics they use ( Market skimming or penetration).. what ever the position they maintain (Market leader or follower or niche) .. what they are doing is wrong.

What I can say is either you work for dialog or you have some connection.

Again the same question, what happened to the lifetime discount money. They just collected it for nothing. I have expressed my idea as a dialog user for 9 years and a dialog priority member. But after all I am a customer.

One could ask if I am a dialog user, why I say this. The simple answer is I PAY MY BILLS and nothing is given for free to me. Still Dialog is trying to rip me off.

So people can decide weather they want to send me to the school or whatever, but in the meantime, your valued money is being absorbed for nothing.

As the dialog can advertise and say anything as long as they do not force us to do that, we can say whatever we think about the product.

If one can count the replies in this thread, you can think what the majority think. No need to worry about other things, just keep your money safe.

Thanks for the advice for not to waste time on the internet. If possible send me to a school.

    Good Luck Isurumuni.

BTW how was the Dialog Staff beach party last time ??

I don't think its true and you cant find such cheap package in US/Europe too.
If you want to get some idea about AirTel packages just check with their indian site.

Its not that cheap and some times will not beat that Mobitel Upahara Package.
Dialog also giving 1000 minutes outgoing free to Dialog numbers. So it will be hard for Airtel too. Because most of the users already having Dialog or Mobitel connections and their giving outgoing free within the network.
In other hand Mobitel giving outgoing free for landlines too. So don't expect a big bang from AirTel.

Other than that, there should be market competition. If mobitel, dialog all get closed then Airtel will rise charges again. If you check Airtel India site you can see its not cheap comparing to current offers from Mobitel and Dialog. Remember its mentioning the prices from Indian Rupees.

    Hi GTRZ,

    Thanks for the reply.
What you say is true and good point about airtel. I used an airtel sim for one month while I was there and charges are not cheap.
