Singer Laptop Keyboard Issue

My sister bought a new Singer Laptop. It had Ubuntu installed. & the keyboard worked fine. Then I installed Win 8. Then, there was an issue with sm keys. When I pressed sm keys, they didn't type the letter I wanted, but sm others. Ex. When I press "0" it would type "*". We told about this issue to Singer & after sm days, we got a new one. Then again installed Win 8. This second laptop has the same keyboard issue. Then I replaced the system with Win 7 to see what happen. It's still the same issue. Then I installed Ubuntu along with Win 7. In Ubuntu, apparently, there is no such issue with the keyboard. Still, I couldn't figure out this. Any clue??

Change keyboard layout, Ex: if your using UK change it to US.

Press FN+F11



(I don't know the exact key combination for Singer Laptops but you may try different combinations. Also refer to the user manual. This causes by automatic activation of the Number Lock.)
