Since you asked this question, its obvious you dont know about hardware. So before you commit to any PC, give your needs for the PC.
Are you buying one to do business work ? play 3D games ? do design work such as 3D modeling or graphic designing ? Video editing ?
Based on that, we can say which hardware is most suited for you.

dont buy Atom based PCs. You cant play high end 3D games on those.
Like others had already said, go for a i3 or at least a core2duo based PC.

LED is an improvement on LCD technology. they are NOT 3D. Also, if you're going to play games on this, Ubuntu is not a good OS choice. Get Windows.

BTW, if all you want to do is to play games and watch movies, why not buy a Gaming console like an XBox or a Playstation ?

Quad Core 2.6GHz + nVidia GTX 460 + 4GB RAM + 7200RPM 250GB< Hard Disk + Motherboard Intel Chipset 4 Series <

This is cheap and powerful than Core i3 cause Core i3 has only 2 Cores
and Quad Core has 4 Cores. the prices is in same range also if u bought a Core i3 u may need to upgrade ur Motherboard as well which is expansive cause it's Socket is NOT 775 it's different.
the good processors u need to try are
Quad Core ,Core i5 (4 Core version),Core i7(4< Cores)
Core i3 can be powerful than Dual Core since it has HT (Hyper Threading which means it got ability to process task parallely by sharing each data in each cores which is faster than Traditional Dual Core processor -that why Core i3 is a better choice but compare with Quad Core it isn't example for playing games like GTA IV u may need heavy processor cause those games are really CPU dependent)

you can play Crysis Warhead with 40FPS with Max Details that means
you can play any game available in this world
and can watch Blu-RAY movies cause ,Quad Core got technology Virtualization, also GTX 460 supported DirectX 11,OpenGL 4.1,CUDA(this means parallel computer architecture that means it got ability to process data parallely and send those data to processor which is faster than normal Graphic Card since 460 has lot of CUDA cores u got massive performance increment),PhysX .

gaming console can be a better selection but careful Microsoft /Sony is going to release XBox/PS newer version soon around 2012 or 2013 that means
Developers will develop games for those new consoles more than older consoles.
infact PS3 can't be cracked easily it is harder than u think ,Xbox360 can be modified even with a software help. but u will be banned if u connect with Xlive
the alternative way is Google ,Xlive Free or something then u can find free place to play online games on Xbox360.

LED/LCD those displays are basically same if u want 3D experience u need nVidia GPU+ 3D glasses which is called Stereoscopic from NVidia
and supported games + a new Stereoscopic supported monitor then u can feel 3D experience.
