Sri Lanka President says the LTTE leader has to face consequences now

Apr 22, Colombo; Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran should now face the consequences of his act to reject surrendering to the Sri Lankan government.
Speaking at an event in the Temple Trees, the President said that "in keeping with the traditions of Buddhism, the government was ready to pardon those who are ready to change their ways to a better path."
Referring to former rebel leaders Karuna Amman and Pillayan, who had been rehabilitated in democracy and now holding top posts, the President said that such clemency would have been possible for Prabhakaran if he had surrendered.
"The Security Forces had now advanced further into LTTE held area, confining them to just 8 sq. km. More Tami civilians are coming to the safety of government held areas,
