Yes its true..

University is Nottingham...

he had admitted two days back as far as i can remember and he passed away yeturday. he is a Final Year Sri Lankan Student. and University has put up white flags.

mean time the university is trying to show that the student is not registered in the uni. so they can get away from the issue. but unfortunatly he has registered with the 3rd Year project.. so they cant do anything. He hasnt paid the fees also.

But very sad story... i got to know this when the incident happend. coz loads of my friends in that uni... lets see :(

Thanks for the update!

Any news about what really happened?

These f*cking uni's are always like this... trying to cover up everything because now all the other universities must be licking their lips to point the finger at them!

Hey guys

I'm a student from the respective university

It really is a tragic loss... the name of the student is Sarankan Sriskandarajah, he was a friend , a class mate, and a colleague of mine.
A real innocent guy, who wouldn't harm a fly. Unfortunately he happened to be having lunch in this food outlet when men from 4 cars came with machetes and attacked sarankan and few others. it appears to be a case of mistaken identity. some how srankan has tried his best to defend him self using his hands n legs. He was admitted to the hospital immediately and sarankan has suffered from many cuts and has lost a lot of blood. Thats all i can say abt the incident.. The university had a day of morn today. where the students organized and put up white flags and gave out black ribbons to be tied in the hands. At the end of the day we went on a silent walk arnd the university with candles to pay our respect to our dear friend sarankan. He will surely be missed by many...:( :( :(

    Sri Lankan dies in attack

PETALING JAYA: A 22-year-old student who was killed by a group of parang-wielding men is believed to be a victim of mistaken identity.

Sarankan Srikandarajah from Sri Lanka was having lunch at 3.45pm on Wednesday in Taman Tasik Semenyih, just a two-minute drive from Nottingham University in Kajang where he studied, when 10 men in three cars pulled up and attacked three students.

A witness said the assailants hacked and slashed the victims.
“It was horrible and everyone was stunned as they attacked my friends for almost two minutes before leaving without saying a word,” the witness, who requested to remain anonymous, said.

Sarankan, a final-year student, suffered multiple slash wounds, losing part of his heels and fingers as he tried to kick away the parang.
He died at the Subang Jaya Medical Centre at 7am yesterday.

A few minutes after the attack on Wednesday, another student of the same university was attacked two kilometres away when the same assailants blocked his car and began slashing him.

“They rammed my car to a stop in the middle of the road. One of them opened my door and began slashing me until one of his gang members said in Tamil: ‘He is not the person’.

“He stopped attacking me and got back in his car and drove off,” the victim, who also requested anonymity, said.

He suffered cuts on his thigh, hand and leg and needed 48 stitches.
It is learnt that many of the students living the area are afraid for their safety following the vicious attack.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Sakaruddin Che Mood confirmed the incidents.
