SLIIT vs gov. ?

SLIIT OR gov. ?

Hey guys and gals,

I've finished my A/Ls this year and I am awaiting results. I applied for the SLIIT as well. But i think that i might have enough marks to get in to gov. Campuses as well. What should I do? Should I wait till i get the A/Ls Results or go and join SLIIT? Which one is better?
And which gov. campus is the better one?

government universities are better than SLIIT.. even u dont want to pay for government universities.
wait until ur results come. I think thats the best if u are sure about ur AL results.

Gov uni yanna puluwan kiyala sure nam machan aniwa ekata yaman. specially if you can go to Mora.
but there is a selection in Gov uni. you can select the filed based on your first year results. so if you screwed up there you will not able to get selected to CSE dept.
consider every aspects and make your own decision.

I thought the test was in Engineering faculty only.
I was talking about government IT universities. Is there a test in those too?

yep I was talking about Engineering faculty CSE department....
it is the best of you can go there..
as I know UOM IT does not have that kind of test. they have selection before the course. so it is risk free. not 100% sure about this.

But i have heard of people doing both degrees at the same time too. How is it possible?

curtin degree also the same i think. because u study in SL. it will be also like a sliit degree, and 3 year degrees are not acceptable in some places

that depends on the course that you are going to follow in a gvt. uni... if you did bio for A/L s and didn't get selected to a medi. fac. better to go to SLIIT. And if you did maths and didn't get selected to one of the following courses better to go to SLIIT: Engineering (Moratuwa, Pera, Ruhuna), QS (Moratuwa), IT (Moratuwa, UCSC, MIT) because it is better to stay at home rather than following any other course at gvt. uni if you don't have any intention of doing higher studies.

and ha Surveying would also be a good option to follow in gvt. uni.....

I did biology. But still I think it is possible to get in to IT (Moratuwa, UCSC, MIT). So if i studied bio and get selected for one of these should i still go to SLIIT?

malli IFS Vetusa, MIT, valata gihin balanna.. godak employersla SLIIT lamai..

malli if you beleive that you have enough marks to go engineering ,well go there (but Mora is the best & pere is also in good level)

if you plans to go physical ;University of colombo one is better..!!!
so if all are depends on your hand..But if you enroll to sliit your accedemic year stated from january..if you wait for Gov one you have to wait till August or jully.

sure mchn... go to one of them... sorry I couldn't mention them their... but u will have to learn little bit of maths before going there because gvt. unis don't spoon feed you with knowledge as in private ones... LoLzzzzz....

Lankawe thama inna balaporotthuwa. But having the ability to study/work abroade for a short time would be nice too. So if i go to our gov. faculty will i miss out on the opportunity?
