Anybody know the reason why it's 10 hrs instead of like 24 hrs? With 10 hrs we lose connection on different times every day, but with something like 24 hrs we can always expect when the next downtime is going to be.
And most fibre routers and ON 24x7, so they can at least make it longer for fibre no?

ෆයිබර් වල 10hrs IP Renew වෙද්දි ආයිත් නෙට් එන්න යන කාලයත් වැඩියි. සාමාන්‍යයෙන් තත්පර 20කට විතර ඩ්‍රොප් වෙනව. ADSL වල නම් ඉක්මණට කනෙක්ට් වෙනව. ඔතැන ඔයා සර්වර් එකක් වගේ කරන්න uninterrupted කනෙක්ෂන් එකක් බලාපොරොත්තු වෙනව නම් SLT එකේ වෙනව තියෙනව බිස්නස් ප්ලෑන් එකක්. හැබැයි මාසෙට ලක්ෂෙකට එහා පැත්තෙ ගෙවන්න වෙයි. ඒවගෙ වෙනම බැක්අප් කනෙක්ෂන් එකකුත් දෙනව. වෙනම හොට්ලයින් එකකුත් දෙනව. කැඩුනොත් එවෙලෙම හදල දෙනව මම හිතන්නෙ වෙන අලාබෙත් ගෙවනව. ඒ වගේ කනෙක්ෂන් එකකට යන්න වෙයි හරියටම කරනව නම්. එහෙම නැත්නම් Static IP එක නම් අර වගේ ඩිස්කනෙක්ට් වෙන එකක් නෑ. ඒකට රුපියල් 1500යි නේහ් යන්නෙ? එයින් එකක් ගන්නව නම් හොඳට ටවුන් ඒරියා එකක ලූප් එකක් ළඟින්ම අරගෙන වැඩේ කරන්න.

They will renew your connection every 10 hours even if you have Static IP. So you will lose the internet connection for about 20-30 secs every 10 Hours.

yes. but the problem is they never allow us to talk to someone who can understand what the hell I am talking about. I never ask technical questions from the 1212 people. .. this time I spoke to their Branche office and the lady finally said, Sir I think this is too technical for me, I am going to assign this to a technical person kiyala...

now I am waiting till they come back. I know this is just a waste of time, resources, and an unnecessary process of escalation for something small like this. yet this is the national carrier we have to deal with whether we like it or not.

Is there anybody who's using static IP with SLT? I want to buy one but everyone at SLT I speak to doesn't seem to have the proper info with them
as per their info they the lease time of a DHCP IP is 10 hrs and every 10 hours we lose internet for couple seconds when the IP gets renewed.

they all tell me that even If I buy a static IP, I will still face this issue.

My question is, if I buy a Static IP, are they going to reserve the IP from the DHCP scope or are going to provide me an IP out of the DHCP scope?

nope... its working continuestly. you need to pay extra 1500 for each month for the static IP.
that mean your current package + static IP bill

3000 + 1500 = 4500

According to google for most ISPs around the world, the lease time is 24 hrs. So why is it 10 hrs with SLT. That's the bit I don't understand

around 6k can have 25 hostnames

I do... but in this scenario, it won't help me resolve my issue, which is disconnecting of the internet connection every 10hrs due to IP renewal.

machan I work from home. based on my job, I have to connect to servers remotely, take calls with overseas colleagues, clients, and third parties,.
access other cloud services...

imagine I have opened remote sessions to a couple of servers, and when I lose internet because of this IP renewal, I have to reconnect each and every server 1 by 1 ...

and then my sister is also working from home and she is fully on AWS stuffs... she plays with data, dashboards, and things like that and whenever she loses connection, she has to run a bunch of commands/codes from the beginning to resume connections.

this has become a pain now.
this fiber line keeps disconnecting randomly.. and they have no logs or records of it except for the logs for IP renewals
