    Vanakkam, ela_eluva120. Yes, I am new. Actually, I am a white man who has adopted Tamil Hindu culture and religion. I do know some Tamil and will be able to help with some things.

    First of all, I have seen that there were a few misspellings of some Tamil words such as vetRi. There the word looks like vedhri.

    Theis is the correct spelling for vetri in Tamil.

    Dear ela_eluwa,

    I really like how you have so accurately represented certain Tamil sounds in Sinhalese script. It is so accurate! :D

    For the Tamil word, கிலி, the Sinhalese spelling which I have shown in bold lettering is the correct one.

    In the list below, I have given some Tamil letters and how they can be represented in Sinhalese transliteration. By following this convention, the transliterations from Tamil script into Sinhala will be accurate. For some Tamil letters, I have given some underlined Sinhalese letters.

    ண = ණ
    ந = න
    ர = ර
    ல = ල
    ழ =
    ள = ළ
    ற =
    ன =

    I hope that this will be of help to Sinhalese trying to learn Tamil. By using the underline under the the coresponding Sinhalese equivelents of those sound for which letters are not found in the Sinhalese alphabet, we are immitating the western phonetic convention of placing an underline under l, r and n respectively to represent the letters, ழ, ற, and ன.
