man in my openion pace bowlers are the key in these pitches but as u said it woul have being gud to have one more speacialist spinner but again sanath and dilshan mite do the trick too

I think selection is ok.Last VB series Malinga played only as the super sub.We don't need 2 specialist spinners.We have Sanath & Dilshan.In Australia we have to go with 3 or 4 fast bowlers.Also can you remember what happened to Malinga in last series (Sharja) and how Pakistan players treat him. Tharanga is out of form but he has proved what he can do in the history. So I don't think there is better choice. There are players who performed in domestic cricket well but we can't put them to a taugh series like this straiter way since the gap between our domestic cricket and International is very wide. Indian,Pakistan,Englan or Australin players will do it because their 1st class cricket standard is very high.

Man......how in the hell did he get nominated ? the idiot didnt even peform well in the Provincial Tournament... munta hena gahanda one... poor Mirando..

And if new players cant be put straight away in Australi how did Ishara Amerasinghe got Nominated... If I remember correctly even Kapugedara got his debut against Aus in Aus last time... I agree with u on are doestic standard is poor compared to Aus & UK..but the recently concluded Provincial Tournament made the best 70 cricketers in SL compete against each other.. in this touranament we saw spinners lime Mendis getting more wickets than Murali & batsmen like Udawatte getting more runs than Mahela... So r provincial tournament had a lot higher standard...

at least Udawatta should have been given a chance..and surely Mirando should have got a chance instead of that pathetic Kulasekara...
