Srilanka Export Regulations

THis is outrageous most of us aren't tea makers or tea packers we are just brokers

how many of you who are living abroad heard that srilanka tea is best.

But when we try to export its just plain PIDA job, so many rules to follow

u should have 1m investment
u should have a tea tester with 3 years experience
blah blah

I have 1000kg/month order but I have to give my customers away for an exporter who has all these stuff least I agree that their should be some kind of regulation but why procedures take too much time and cost hell of a lot than given. You should take care of that officer this officer customs will check every box even if you have proper export docs .......

mean while a normal indian guy supplies the items and swoops away the customer.

If export has this much of problems then imports

---------yes friend, that is true, every sector, there are too much regulations in srilanka discouraging srilankan investors who develop the country. You should inform to President Mahinda Rajapakksha about this problem.
