Srilankan network broadband connections

Hey everybody,

I'm comming to sri lanka after 3 years. So, i barely know watz happening rgt now with srilankan network broadband connections. I want to know watz the best and fastest broadband connection available in srilanka?

And um briging some stuff (routers/network accessories/media center/ect..) from NY which has only cat5 or RJ-45 inputs. as i rember last time i left home it was only regular telephone cable dat i plug in to the router. den cat5 genrates from that and it goes to the network card. so i wanna know is there a way that i can use my routers with regular DSL connection(if um right with the fact)?

machan AFAIK still theres no ISP that got DSL lines to households.

imho service/price best connection is SLT ADSL. u have to get a adsl router with RJ11( telephone) cable in & RJ45 outs. slt has few packages to choose with no data limits. upto 4mbps i think( not sure )

theres also mobile networks with 3.5G

Anyway also check with authorities before getting telecommunication equipment to lanka. cos somtimes customs dont allow them in & ask for TRC approval. especially wireless stuff.
