For any dream to be realized it should be first conceived in the hearts and minds of living human beings. The rector of St. Sebastian’s also had a dream for the school. The school needed a new face. Just as the face reflects the heart of a person, this new face of the school gives not only a whole new out look to the school itself but also it will give a new heart to the school as well. The Rector’s firm belief is that, it one needs to forn students of quality with discipline they should be based on spirituality. Therefore the concept of a chapel in the very heart of the school together with some much needed classrooms an administrative block was born.
A Sebastian’s being a premier Catholic school always felt the need of a Chapel . This new chapel located at the very centre of the school premises will certainly fulfill this great need .As this chapel will be located at the very center, the first sight if anyone entering the school will be the chapel. It will not only communicate to the person that this a catholic school where God is given the 1st place But also the sight will certainly make that person feel that they are on holy ground which will create a sense of respect for the school. Not just for a student even for a stranger entering the school will also have the same kind of effect upon him. The chapel been built in the very centre will certainly be an invitation for all the students to pay a visit to the blessed sacrament before they step into their class-rooms. It will instill in them a new set of values where God is given the first place in their lives. With this new mindset the students can only go from strength, keeping the green white and gold flag a loft ; making all Sebastianites proud.
The rough estimate of the project is around 60 million. Already a some of around 10 million has been collected with the batch of 93 leading the way by contributing 2 million through their fund raising projects. Students of past 20 years will be contacted and will be requested 5000 rupees each on an installment basis. The present Students will be making their contributions as well. They will collect their daily savings in a “Till” and will offer it on the Loyalty Day on which day we shall lay the foundation stone for the inauguration of the project . The parents will be making their contribution by giving an added amount as a monthly donation. The rector and the staff are determined to raise the rest of the funds needed. We are confident that God will provide all that in necessary for the completion of the project. He may be speaking to you right now to sow that seed which will certainly yield a bountiful harvest in your own life and also in the Sebantianite community. We hope all you Sebastianies out their will certainly feel privileged to be a part of this project and will contribute in your own way to see this dream realized.
