Nov 27, Katubedda: For the first time in Sri Lankan history the security forces have managed to setup surveillance cameras at the checkpoints in key areas of the country.
Under the program the first surveillance camera was setup at the Katubedda checkpoint, along the Galle road to monitor the vehicles closely.
According to the sources over one million rupees were spent to setup the camera and the authorities hope to setup these cameras at other major checkpoints as soon as possible.
These surveillance cameras will operate 24 hours a day and security forces will closely monitor all the vehicles entering the Sri Lankan capital Colombo.
