Symbian OS 9.4 Rel 5 Apps n Tips (Nokia 5800XM, Nokia N97, Samsung i8910, SE Idou)

This thread is for posting useful applications and tips for the new touch screen phones supporting Symbian 9.4 Rel 5 OS. Old S60 applications don’t work well with the new 9.4 OS because of the touch screen, that is why I thought of opening up this thread for anyone who has one of the following phones.

Supported phones

• Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic
• Nokia N97
• Sony Ericsson Satio (Idou)
• Samsung i8910 Omnia HD

Applications

• Internet
  • Fring : Multiprotocol IM Client with voice support
  • eBuddy v1.2 : Another Multiprotocol IM Client (NO voice support)
  • Opera Mini v4.2.14320 : Opera mobile web browser (Java)

Tips

• How to turn off the virtual keypad for Java applications : Go to Settings > Application mgr. > Installed apps. > Select the application > Options > Suite settings > On-screen keyboard : off
